"We seek not to intrude upon a design, but enhance it with as few brushstrokes as possible."

Nathan Irick, MIES, LEED AP

Designer / Senior Project Manager

Nathan joined RNLD at the tail end of the recession as the firm’s first full time employee, and his path to lighting design came through training in architecture. His previous experience comes from two residential architecture firms in Phoenix, and two health care architecture firms in San Diego. Work experience across these four firms, from Intern through to Job Captain, has served RNLD well as the discipline necessary to organize and coordinate large hotel towers and resorts has become an essential part of the firm’s business. Nathan’s technical expertise with computers and design software has helped the firm keep its focus on the most effective means of not only documentation, but presentation as well. He maintained and updated the first two iterations of the RNLD website, though time constraints mean most of this work is now outsourced. He is also now the firm’s primary photographer, having documented all the firm’s work since 2014.

Nathan graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Design with a minor in Urban Planning from The School of Architecture at Arizona State University in 2005, and a Master of Architecture from the NewSchool of Architecture in 2010.
